The need for organic supply chains is increasing as consumption grows.
DID-IT aims to boost organic supply by kickstarting, supporting and funding projects to grow and produce with diversity for more high-quality organic agricultural products.
BRAZIL visit
For Poppe Braam DID-IT, there is a long history in Brazil.
In 1993 Terra Preservada was founded with the help of Poppe Braam DO-IT and Hans Friese Ciranda, 2 sister companies with DO-IT importing into Europe and Ciranda importing into the United States.
A project in southern Brazil, Parana around the Iguazu Natural Park, where existing agriculture was converted to organic for soy and tapioca with as rotation crops, beans corn and wheat.
There were some large farmers and cooperatives of small farmers participating in the project guided by experts from - IBD Instituto Bio Dynamico.
The goal was and is organic soy and tapioca for export and local marketing with the preservation of rainforest, biodiversity and habitats with social structures.
It is still a thriving project, since 2012 under the name Biorganica, in which Poppe is actively involved as DID-IT
On March 9, Poppe and Frouwkje Braam, DID-IT, along with Astrid Dossche of the Hobbit, supplier of organic soy products, left for Brazil to visit Biorganica and Tofutura.
