History of the Hagheweyder chickens.
It is summer 2023 and there are about 200 Hagheweyder chickens scattered across the country with cooperating breeders. At farm de Braamstruik, 12 Hagheweyders chicken keepers are meeting to exchange experiences.
Around 1975, Andreas Wijgmans had begun developing a dual-purpose hatch on the Hagheweyde estate in Warmond, which would be suitable for biodynamic chicken farming.
In March 1985, there was a meeting in Driebergen of Andreas Wijgmans, Ton Baars, Hans Meijer and some others involved. The occasion was the formulation of breeding goals for the Hagheweyders.
